Celebrating 20 Years of AALNC:
2009 National Educational Conference Held in Phoenix, Arizona
Recognizing the importance of the organization's founding members to the success and longevity of AALNC, founding members were invited to participate in a special champaign toast at the 2009 National Educational Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on April 22, 2009. Phoenix, Arizona was the site of our first educational conference so travelling to Phoenix was truly a celebration of our founding roots. You can read more about the first AALNC conference in 1990 on our memoirs page. It was like a reunion for many of these founding members when they started sharing stories of how they came to found AALNC. There were pictures and a 20th Anniversary cake for members to partake in. In addition to their special reception, founding members also wore ribbons identifying them as founding members during the conference.
