On behalf of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), we are pleased to invite you to the AALNC 2008 National Educational Conference in Tampa, Florida. The wide variety of topics that form the framework of the program have been chosen to provide you with the latest information to help you advance your practice.
Whether you are an experienced legal nurse consultant or just starting out in the field - and whether you are practicing as n independent pratcitioner or are directly employed by a law firm, hospital, consulting firm or insurance company - the information provided at this conference is vital to furthering your career. Continuing Education Credit
Earn continuing education credits while you learn! The AALNC National Educational Conference offers you the opportunity to earn continuing education credits from multiple programs. To earn contact hours: An entire session must be attended to receive credit. The total number of contact hours awarded is determined by the number of sessions an individual completes. Please note that previously, one contact hour has been equal to 50 minutes of educational content; however, as of January 1, 2007 the ANCC (American Nursing Credentialing Center) equates 60 minutes of educational content to one contact hour. A Continuing Education Self-Report Form to track contact hours earned will be provided to each participant in their registration bag in Tampa. Illinois Nurses Association
AALNC is an approved provider of continuing education by the Illinois Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This continuing education program was approved for up to 23.82 nursing contact hours. Sessions marked with "INA" indicate those approved for nursing contact hours.

Pre-Conference Workshops – up to 7.66 contact hours
Educational Sessions – up to 16.6 contact hours
Commission for Case Manager Certification
AALNC will apply for approval of 23.82 continuing education hours from the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC). Sessions marked "CCMC" indicate those that will be submitted for approval under the CCMC requirements.

Preconference Workshops - up to 7.66 contact hours
Keynote/General/Concurrent Sessions - 16.16 contact hours
Legal Nurse Consultant Certified
Sessions marked "LNCC" include topic areas that can be applied toward LNCC certification renewal by contact hours.
Experience Counts: Become an LNCC
The Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) designation is the sign of an experienced LNC - a designation that has to be earned through experience and demonstrated mastery of content. The LNCC program is the only LNC certification that is accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties and endorsed by AALNC, the industry's not-for-profit professional society.
The LNCC certification examination, sponsored by the American Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board, will be held prior to the conference.
Eligibility criteria for the examination:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the United States or its
territories, with a full and unrestricted license
- A minimum of five years of experience practicing as a registered nurse
at the time of application
- 2,000 hours legal nurse consulting experience within the past three
years at the time of application
The LNCC Exam will be offered on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Tampa Marriott Waterside. The application postmark deadline is February 9, 2008.
The certification exam will also be offered May 3, 2008 and October 11, 2008 at sites nationwide.
The application deadlines are March 8, 2008 and August 16, 2008, respectively.
