From the President: AALNC Annual Forum 2018

Registration is now open for the AALNC Annual Forum 2018, which means it’s time to register for the best networking and educational opportunities available for legal nurse consultants. In addition to the outstanding networking and educational opportunities that the AALNC Annual Forum 2018 will offer attendees, this year, for the first time ever, we’ll be hosting the conference at an oceanfront hotel. Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on why you should attend the AALNC Annual Forum 2018 in Clearwater, Florida from April 13-14, 2018.

In addition to the amazing venue that the Hilton Clearwater Beach will provide, there are numerous opportunities for legal nurse consultants to take advantage of during their time at the AALNC Annual Forum. Each year, our forum committee works tirelessly to find new, interesting and relevant topics to cover at the event. This year, we have a session on telemedicine that will be presented by a physician and will highlight advantages, disadvantages and best practices to keep in mind around telemedicine. Additionally, we will have a session, led by an attorney, discussing electronic medical records and best practices to utilize when analyzing these records. You don’t want to miss these sessions, and others, that will be offered at the AALNC Annual Forum 2018!

While the educational offerings at the AALNC Annual Forum are second to none for legal nurse consultants, my personal favorite part of the annual gathering is the networking opportunities that are available throughout the forum. There are numerous formal and informal opportunities to expand your professional network. This year’s formal networking event features a new theme and layout, and is entitled Sunset Networking. This opportunity will allow you to meet fellow LNCs, practice your networking and explore the city of Clearwater. In addition to our formal opportunities, there are several ways to meet more informally with other attendees. One way that I enjoy getting to know other attendees is by taking advantage of the reserved dining options at local restaurants where I can explore the local community while networking with other attendees over a meal. There are countless opportunities to network both formally and informally during the conference; my advice to you is to bring plenty of business cards!

If you’re on the fence about attending the AALNC Annual Forum, I would encourage you to consider the knowledge you’ll earn, the contacts you’ll make and the impact you can have on your career and firm. Since joining AALNC over 10 years ago, I have attended the AALNC Annual Forum each year and cannot count the number of both personal and professional benefits that I have received from my attendance over the years.

I can’t wait to attend the AALNC Annual Forum 2018 to re-connect with people who I only see in-person during this annual event, meet new people in legal nurse consulting and I especially cannot wait to enjoy some time at the beach!
