Novice to Skilled - Topics for Growth as an LNC
This interactive workshop starts off with hands on experience focusing on designing, revising, and creating your own report templates with help from experienced LNC mentors Shanna Robert and Cassie Foster. Then learn more skills on how to build and write medical chronologies from Dr. John Shim followed by key points on what takes place when a healthcare provider fails to meet the standard of care from attorney Lance Leider.

Tell Me Where it Hurts - Personal Injury Litigation
Join LNC Robin Axtell and attorney David Wolf to learn more about how a personal injury case evolves and how the LNC can work with attorney clients in analyzing and working through personal injury cases. LNCs Dawn Espinosa and Shanna Robert will dive in further to share cases with interactive learning for the LNC to understand more fully the physical injuries and damages and the mental health components in personal injury cases to help the LNC broaden and expand their service line to include personal injury cases.

Anatomy of a Personal Injury Case – Attorney and LNC Team Approach – 1.5 CE Robin Axtell RN, BSN, LNCC & David Wolf JD The session will provide the basis for how a personal injury case evolves as well as the elements of a personal injury case, and understanding how Florida law applies. This session will discuss how a personal injury case evolves reviewing the components of coverage, insurance liens, no-fault laws, EMC, PIP, permanency requirement, statute of limitations, and medical treatment required. At the end of the session participants will be able to identify the role and value of a LNC working in a team approach with the attorney and legal team.

Injury Case Analysis for the LNC – 1.5 CE Dawn Espinoza MSN, RN, CCM, CDMS, CNLCP, LNCC This session will discuss the different types of injury and outline items specific to the analysis of an injury case. Participants will be able to apply the four elements of negligence to an injury case and understand the LNC's role as well as value when analyzing an injury case.

The Ultimate Manifestation of Psychological Response to Physical Injury. Conversion Disorder: A Case Study – 1.0 CE Shanna Robert RN, LNC This session will take an in-depth look at mental health as a component of personal injury cases. Participants will learn about mental health effects of an injury through an interactive case study identifying the ultimate psychological response with minimal physical injury.
