Membership Vote Regarding Proposed Bylaws Change
AALNC is pleased to report that the Membership approved the following changes to the AALNC Bylaws:AALNC Webinar Series
Purpose of AALNC’s Charter: In keeping with AALNC’s current mission and definition of legal nurse consulting specialty practice, this section now states:
"The purpose of the Chapter is to promote the professional advancement of registered nurses consulting within the legal arena and to provide a forum for education, research, and the exchange of information on medical-legal matters., and to perform any and all such other acts that are necessary and proper to the attainment of these purposes.”
Membership Categories: AALNC previously had three membership categories: Active (for RNs actively consulting within the legal arena), Associate (for RNs with an interest in medical-legal issues) and Sustaining (for other individuals or groups with an interest in the Association).
In keeping with other professional nursing associations, we now have two membership categories: RN and non-RN. All RN members will have full membership benefits, including voting rights. The Board’s recommendations for these membership categories arose out of our desire to fully support all RNs with an interest in or actively working in legal nursing, and also to recognize the wealth of knowledge and contributions made by all RNs, irrespective of their experience in the medical-legal arena.
AALNC's Webinar Series offers members and non members the opportunity to earn CE credits through AALNC's Monthly Educational Webinars! For more information about the series, click here.
